The Super Mario All Stars version of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System was nothing more than a normal console bundled with the Super Mario All Stars cartridge in a colourful box. And, yes, said All Stars cart includes Super Mario Bros 1, 2, 3 and Lost Levels all updated with shiny 16-bit graphics for the SNES era.

VTech's Laser 200 Color Computer

Released in 1983, the Laser 200 Color Computer may have not been a technological breakthrough, but it was one of the cheapest 8-bit micros of the era and also one that could output colour graphics. Designed in Honk Kong around the Z80A, the computer came with Microsoft's BASIC in ROM, 8kb of RAM and the ability to display up to nine colours. VTech's micro was also launched as the TX8000 in the UK and the rather famous Dick Smith VZ 200 in Australia and New Zealand.

Pitfall! by Activision (Atari 2600)

Ultima VII, arguably the best installment in Origin's classic RPG series, complete with all its expansions and packaged in one hefty and still sealed box can be grabbed via this eBay auction for The Complete Ultima VII (MS-DOS). The box includes The Black Gate, Forge of Virtue, The Silver Seed and the masterpiece that is Serpent Isle.

Commodore 65 Working Prototype

It would have been the most powerful 8-bit micro, but it was never meant to be as Commodore cancelled it in the early '90s. Still, a few working prototypes of the Commodore 65 or C64DX were crafted and we do now know that this computer would have been something between an Amiga and a C64.

It would have come with a powerful 8-bit custom CPU clocked at 3.54Mhz, a graphics chip that would be able to display 256 colours from a palette of 4096, stereo sound provided by dual SIDs, 128k of RAM, a 3.5" disk drive and a new and vastly improved BASIC. Toastrack fun: Sinclair ZX Spectrum 128

The 128k version of the ZX Spectrum didn't merely come with a few extra RAM chips. It sported a brand new audio chip, a BASIC sensible people could actually use and one of the most beautiful and sleek cases ever designed. Also, it failed to actually save Sinclair, but that's beside the point, the point being this lovely ZX Spectrum 128 up for auction on eBay.

The computer seems to be in excellent (and of course working) condition and the seller's shipping within the European Union.

Epoch Super Cassettevision

An obscure, rare and quite wonderful beast, the oddly named and reassuringly cartridge-based Epoch Super Cassettevision was released in 1984 as the successor to the original Cassettevision. The console had 16K of video RAM and thus a palette of 512 colours, could handle up to 128 sprites, came with a RGB output and had roughly 30 games produced for it. Apparently, the Super Cassettevision was particularly good at shmups and arcade games.

Intrigued? Good, for you can grab a working, boxed console via this Epoch Super Cassettevision eBay auction. It is the Japanese NTSC version of the thing and comes with two controllers, power adapter and RF thingy.
