An excellent PC games collection

If you are a US resident (though, who knows what an email can achieve?) and are even mildly interested in classic PC gaming you simply have to try and grab this Vintage PC Games Collection. Not only is it still very cheap to buy (the price will go up, mind), but it also includes nine mostly excellent games. Among them you will find brilliant cartoon adventure Toon Struck, Sierra's classic CRPG Return to Krondor, turn-based strategy classic Breach 2, and the ever lovely, Arthurian Conquests of Camelot.  

Les Manley: Lost in L.A. (DOS)

Les Manley was Accolade's not particularly successful attempt at coming up with its very own Leisure Suit Larry, that sadly fell flat on its face. Still, despite mediocre (at best) sales the character managed to star in two light-hearted adventures, the second and better of which you could grab via this Les Manley: Lost in L.A. auction. It's a pretty enjoyable curio and a rather collectible adventure game, which does come complete in its rich box. Seller ships only within the US.

The Sega Saturn Sophia Dev Kit

The first Japanese edition of the Sega Saturn Sophia Development System is a true rarity and -of course- something contemporary indie developers could use to provide us with more Saturn games. The dev kit does come with a price though and you can bid on it via this Sega Saturn Sophia auction. Seller ships worldwide. 

An excellently preserved Atari Jaguar

If you live in the US and wouldn't mind paying above the console's average price, well, this impressive Atari Jaguar auction is definitely for you. It's a complete, boxed Jaguar in fantastic condition, that comes with everything the original box should include and a few extra cables. Even the box itself looks great.

Leander (Amiga)

Leander has for some unfathomable reason faded into obscurity, despite being the very first game developed by Traveller's Tales and sporting some seriously impressive visuals. It was even published by Psygnosis and was a highly enjoyable fighting platformer, but, well, collective memory seems to work in mysterious ways. Anyway. You can apparently grab a complete, boxed copy of Leander (Amiga) via that auction I just linked to. Seller ships only within the US.

Mattel Aquarius Boxed & Complete

He may be humble and giving, but you have to know that it was dear Retro Treasures reader Max who discovered this amazing Mattel Aquarius auction. Yes, that failed and rather rare Z80-based home micro that only managed to survive for a few months in 1983 can indeed be yours. Or to use Mattel's official lingo the Aquarius Computer & Game System can be yours. What's more, the computer comes complete in its huge box (including manuals, keyboard overlays, gamepads, expansion unit etc) and is accompanied by four games. Seller ships worldwide.

Road Riot 4WD (Atari Lynx)

The amazing Blake of the equally amazing ByteCellar has apparently done it again! He discovered a way for you (and me) to play the criminally unreleased Road Riot 4WD on the Atari Lynx. It's pretty simple too really, as all we have to do is visit the link to Road Riot 4WD on eBay and grab one of the available copies for a very reasonable $39.95. Following that, inserting the cart into the Lynx should be all that's required. Uhm, yes... Seller ships worldwide.

Oh, and if you have to know, the seller somehow found the unreleased and most probably complete code of the game after the closure of Atari and then transferred it onto an EPROM board. The game itself looks pretty brilliant and technically impressive and you can find out more about it over at The Atari Times.

Atari Lynx & Games

Having already grabbed all the Atari Lynx consoles anyone could care to own, I thought I'd try and get you into the tasteful and at times expensive Lynx collecting hobby too. Yes, I can be nasty like that, but you'll have to admit that the Lynx is a fantastic console, that to this day sports some of the best handheld arcade ports ever. Anyway. This lovely Atari Lynx eBay auction should be a great place to start. The handheld (a Mark I Lynx) comes in fully working condition and is accompanied both by the official carrying case and four games including California Games and Turbo Sub. Seller ships worldwide.

Border Down Special Edition

Border Down by G.rev was released in 2003 and was thus one of the latest and most difficult to grab Sega Dreamcast games. It is, after all, a pretty desirable and rather fantastic arcade, horizontal shoot-'em-up with amazing graphics. As for the Border Down Special Edition, the one that comes complete with an OST CD and different cover art, you can grab it (its Japanese version) over at Play Asia. It's even rarer this one...

Telegames Personal Arcade

The Telegames Personal Arcade, the version of Bit Corporation's DINA 2-in-1 console that was released in the US, is a pretty rare and definitely unique gaming machine. It can play both ColecoVision and Sega SG-1000 (the Master System's daddy), was released back in 1986, sports two different cartridge ports and also looks quite nice. Happily, you can grab one via this Telegames Personal Arcade auction for a complete, boxed system. Seller ships worldwide.

Ultima II for your Apple II

Richard Garriott's Ultima II: The Revenge of the Enchantress was published by Sierra in 1982 and caused enough dispute between the developer and the publisher to lead to the creation of Origin. Besides it's historical importance and the fact that it was a deeply (though unintentionally) surreal CRPG, the game is nowadays quite a rarity too. Especially when it comes complete in its sealed box as is the case with this copy of Ultima II (Apple II) you can bid on at eBay. Seller ships worldwide.

Silicon Dreams by Level 9

Level 9 was a rather brilliant British text adventures developer that produced many an excellent game. Three of its creations, Snowball, Return to Eden and The Worm in Paradise, can be found in the Silicon Dreams compilation.
