Atari Lynx mk.I & Games

The original version of the Atari Lynx --the colour machine that will always be my favourite vintage handheld console-- along with six games has been put up for auction on eBay. The console on offer is apparently fully working, in good cosmetic condition, comes with a power supply unit, and is accompanied by six cartridges including the excellent Xenophobe, California Games, and Hard Drivin'.

Robotron 2084 (Atari Lynx)

With the reputation of the handheld that could really tackle arcade ports, the Atari Lynx had no problem getting itself a truly impressive port of Eugene Jarvis' classic (and by then already retro) Robotron twin-stick shmup. Until you see the Atari Lynx handling dozens of exploding Lemmings with the ease of an Amiga you simply cannot appreciate just how well Atari's handheld could handle sprites. Road Riot 4WD (Atari Lynx)

The amazing Blake of the equally amazing ByteCellar has apparently done it again! He discovered a way for you (and me) to play the criminally unreleased Road Riot 4WD on the Atari Lynx. It's pretty simple too really, as all we have to do is visit the link to Road Riot 4WD on eBay and grab one of the available copies for a very reasonable $39.95. Oh, and if you have to know, the seller somehow found the unreleased and most probably complete code of the game after the closure of Atari and then transferred it onto an EPROM board.
