I love Space Quest III: The Pirates of Pestulon. I just do. I love its many mad deaths, the silly Sierra meta-jokes, the excellent EGA graphics, the playful parser, the clever writing, the sci-fi setting, even many of the puzzles. Silpheed (MS-DOS)

Probably the most interesting game developed during Sierra's collaboration with legendary Japanese game developer/publisher Game Arts, Silpheed is a clever and technically impressive arcade offering that did quite a few new things with the shoot-'em-up formula. A most excellent Space Quest III box

Love it or hate it (seriously, how could you?), Space Quest III: The Pirates of Pestulon is a classic parser-driven graphical adventure game, and a truly fine, funny, sci-fi, satirical, death-filled moment in the long history of Sierra. It is also the last Space Quest game designed by both the Guys From Andromeda, and, as you'd expect, a game you can buy via this Space Quest III (MS-DOS) eBay auction.

Rise of the Dragon (MS DOS)

Rise of the Dragon by Dynamix (and Sierra), despite its flaws and irritating arcade bits, is one of the adventure games I absolutely love. Always did, actually. It looked stunning in its 256 VGA colours back in 1990, the first person point of view is handled admirably, the atmosphere is brilliant, the plot enjoyable in an over-the-top way and, well, I just love the thing. Manhunter: New York is one of Sierra's weirdest graphic adventures. Set in an alien occupied New York, starring weird orbs, featuring hooded ruffians, and sporting more arcade sequence than anyone ever expected it to, it's definitely unique. Happy holidays everyone! As, Retro Treasures will be taking a few days off, I thought I'd search and post something I had always associated with this time of the year: The Adventures of Willy Beamish as developed by Dynamix and published by Sierra. A cartoon-y adventure game that's I've loved since I was a child.

The best and last Space Quest to be designed by both the Guys from Andromeda, Space Quest IV: Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers is a fantastic and at times properly funny adventure game with then-impressive 256-colour VGA graphics, great music, weird mini games, a demented plot taking you from Space Quest XII to the EGA times of Space Quest I and some truly tough (and one horribly unfair) puzzles.
