The very first copies of Space Quest that hit the gaming public came in a small, beautiful, black box; yes, just like the one you see above. Sadly the original black box run was quite limited and thus bidding on this Space Quest copy should be seen as bidding on a rarity. Nintendo NES - R.O.B. Light-Up Store Display

Oooh, a rare and lovely Nintendo rarity: a Nintendo R.O.B. Light-Up Store Display! Philips Videopac G7200

I've always wanted a Philips Videopac G7200, even though I always knew this bit of retro gaming tech can be far too expensive to both grab and ship. Take this Philips Videopac G7200 auction for example: the bidding starts at £600 and the seller ships only within the UK. Then again, the lucky winner will be getting the console boxed and complete with two controllers, manual, a game, a poster of the available games and them coveted poly inserts.

The Videopac G7200 is the computerised version of the G7000 (Odyssey II) and sports a lovely black-and-white monitor and, obviously, a keyboard. 

Video Life (Atari 2600)

Based on Conway's Game of Life, Video Life is a simple yet incredibly interesting life-sim for the Atari 2600. It also happens to be one of the rarest games money can buy as, according to legend, less than 20 copies of it were ever made. You can buy the VCS version of Video Life over on eBay for $5000 or make an offer and get it for (slightly) less. The Super Famicom Box is the apt name that describes a rare, box-shaped Super Famicom that was exclusively launched in Japan and was destined to be only used in hotels. Softporn Adventure is famous for being the text-adventure that directly inspired the creation of Leisure Suite Larry and for starring a naked Roberta Williams on its cover. Oh, and the game is now preserved in a glass frame (that is included in the auction). Handily, the mounting did not use any tape/glue so you can see the back and front of the box and, of course, remove it from its mounting.
