BattleSphere for the Atari Jaguar

Despite being released in 2000 -a mere 11 years ago- BattleSphere is both one of the best and one of the rarest cartridges for the Atari Jaguar. It was after all released by a small company (4Play/ScatoLOGIC) during a period when Jaguar cartridge components were extremely scarce. Rumour has it that only a few hundred copies of the game were ever sold. You can find out more about the game here and try to grab a copy via this BattleSphere auction. Seller ships only to US addresses.

  1. That's weird, one of the best Jaguar game and so few screens around the web... I'll try with youtube tonight. Oh, and what do you think about the Jag, Gnome? I tried AvsP and Wolfenstein 3D at my friend's house, and looks like a fascinating console.

  2. Well, dear Mik, I remember I wanted a Jaguar back in the day and thus wanted it to do well in order to justify a purchase. Sadly I didn't grab it then. It's quite an interesting and very powerful console that was far ahead of its time. The hardware bugs and the few good games are a let down, but all in all it's fantastic if only for Tempest 2000, AvP, Wolf3D, DOOM, Rayman and the amazing homebrew scene.

  3. That's true, those little gems really gave Jag a reason to exist. And there are Sensible Soccer, NBA Jam and Flashback too!

  4. And I have yet to try Jag's version of Sensi Soccer. For shame...
