Ah, yes, a favourite failed console: the Commodore 64 Games System (a.k.a. C64gs). A full Commodore 64 in an ugly box without the keyboard. Gotta love it I suppose and possibly bid on this C64 GS auction too. The console is fully working and comes with a joystick, the manual and quite a few games, among which you'll be happy to find Klax, International Soccer and the brilliant and quite rare Shadow of the Beast. Beast itself should make the bid worthy... aside that, we are in front of one of the biggest market failures ever, and still technically the best 8 bit console (due to the 17+ millions of c64 sold worldwide and a pretty strong software base)... pretty strange, uh?
ReplyDeleteYes, Beast is definitely a lovely rarity and a technical masterpiece. The only problem with this console though is that the lack of keyboard doesn't quite allow for most of the games to be properly loaded.
