Mystique, the notorious publisher of faux-porn for the Atari 2600, had quite a few gaming atrocities released under its Swedish Erotica label. Beat 'em & Eat 'em is easily one of the worse yet more lavishly packaged offenders and thus a game lustfully sought after by collectors, who will be happy to bid on this CiB Beat 'em & Eat 'em cartridge. Seller ships worldwide. And no, this is as far from NSFW as humanly possible.

Even as someone who understand the collector value, I have to say, calling this a "retro treasure" is quite a stretch. ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, well, can't disagree there. It's, uhm, not very much of a shining gem, is it?
ReplyDeleteIt's an unholy blight on the face of videogames as a modern medium.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!

Well, yes it's a pretty revoltingly-themed Kaboom clone, but all things being equal I'd rather play this than either Bachelor Party or Custer's Revenge. And you gotta love the leather case!
ReplyDeleteThe packaging is indeed very impressive, but must admit that Bachelor Party is almost playable. And an interesting take on Breakout. As for Custer's Revenge... Argh!
ReplyDeleteheh - yeah, splitting hairs on an almost completely bald head with these 3 games, but I'd put Beat 'em a little ahead of Bachelor Party in the "almost playable" category. And agreed that Custer's Revenge is just plain terrible.
ReplyDeleteAnd tastelessly racist too... Still, now I have come up with a plan to find sexy games for the Amiga...
ReplyDeleteSex Vixens From Space maybe? Pickings are slim...
ReplyDeleteAnd I didn't even know that...
