Polulous (Atari ST)

Ah, yes, the classic god game by Peter Molyneux. Populous for the Atari ST complete in its box. Seller ships only within France worldwide.

  1. Good ol' Populous... I used to play it on Master System, but I guess it was not the best way to appreciate it... still, the concept stays fascinating even nowadays. And, well, you can cast earthquake and volcanos at your own will to exterminate infidels... so extreme, yet so fun.

    1. The Master System? How very odd; I was sure it was a micro only affair. Gotta look for it then...

And, yes, a rather fantastic game dear Mik!

  2. Great game. It was actually available on a variety of platforms. According to the Wikipedia entry, you could enjoy Populous on the Commodore Amiga, the Atari ST, MS DOS, the Apple Macintosh and even the Acorn Archimedes.

Console owners weren't left in the old either, with versions for the aforementioned Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, and Nintendo Game Boy. There was even a version for the Sony Playstation which is still available on their Playstation Network and as recently as 2008, it was ported to the Nintendo DS as Populous DS.

And if that's not enough for you, you can also play it on the relatively obscure NEC PC-9801, Sharp X68000 and the FM Towns.

*Insert apposite Peter Molyneux quote about it being the best game of all time and how it will revolutionise gaming forever if not indeed the world here.
