GameBoy's BoosterBoy

As treasured reader and discoverer of retro oddities Bob so eloquently put it... Now you too can make your highly portable, original GameBoy into an almost completely stationary, desk-bound monstrosity thanks to the Game Boy Booster! You can of course grab said Saitek monstrosity over at eBay, but do keep in mind the seller is shipping only within the UK.

  1. Aw, thanks Gnome. ;D

I'd love to know what was going through the minds of the people who came up with this thing, though. I can't help but think the only reason it existed was to cash in on the immense popularity of the GameBoy, cos as an accessory for a handheld, it's completely useless in every single way.

    1. Indeed. But it does make for a truly weird collectible thingie! Mind you, I couldn't help but wish for something equally outrageous for the Lynx...

  2. Wow... Can you imagine how big it would have to be to accommodate a Mark One Lynx? After all, it's the only handheld that could comfortably double up as a canoe paddle as it is.

    1. And that would make for some gloriously monstrous accessories of the sort. Canoe paddle... hehehe!

  3. Actually, I spent a lot of time back then drooling on my local store's window where this thing was exposed. Never managed to try it, though.

(sorry for disappearing dear gnome, a lot of things kept me busy :) )

  5. I have one in the back room. Unboxed but in excellent condition. Is it worth putting on ebay or are we talking a total retro fail here.

    1. Hey, I suggest you put it on eBay and give it a few days.
