Neo Geo AES & 4 Games

It's still the most beautiful console ever released, isn't it? Well, hardware design taste aside, the home version of the Neo Geo, its AES variant, was a ridiculously powerful and equally expensive machine, that even today remains a perfect 2D gaming collector's machine. You can bid on this boxed Neo Geo AES and find out why by yourselves. Seller ships worldwide, and the included games are Fatal Fury Special, Samurai Showdown, Samurai Showdown II and Art of Fighting 2.

  1. Would sure be cool to own one. Unfortunately at the prices they fetch I could almost buy a full MVS cab so I suspect that may never happen for me. But you never know!

  2. Admittedly the MVS does have way cheaper games too and makes much more sense, though the AES remains a thing of beauty.

  3. It does indeed. And good sense has never been a prerequisite for my gaming purchases so I never say never :)

  4. er - except for the previous 2 comments where I said 'never' an astounding total of 5 times. Damn...

  5. This was a dream for anyone back then, but some cartridges were so expensive... and things remained the same (or even got worse) years later! I had the luck to play with it, though, and really was something amazing, until someone invented something called "The Supergun". Still, a respectable (and rich) collector should really try to have one.

(MP, did you say "never" by any chance?)

  6. Dear god, that's a $130 shipping fee!

  7. ...don't forget handling. Shipping AND HANDLING. The handling is what always kills ya! You know it's expensive when even if you win the bid at $1 you still can't afford it!

  8. Nice, but I'd still prefer a NeoGeo arcade multicab!

  9. Most definitely a thing of beauty. 20 years later, I finally own one, and it feels every bit as awesome as I assumed it would. I got lucky when I scored mine. I got it locally for $200 with two controllers, A Phantom-1 converter (they had no idea what it was, and I played stupid.), and a King of Fighters 2002 mvs cart. It had been sitting in a cardboard box for years at the local used game shop, I think they pretty much forgot they had it. I sold the Phantom-1 and KOF02 on ebay for a total of $180. Mmmm.. Delicious $20 Neo Geo. I'm not trying to brag, just illustrating there are still some deals out there if you poke around in cardboard boxes.

Okay, making trying to brag just a little. :)

  11. So, I take a mere afternoon off and this is what happens. Tsk, Tsk, tsk.

    (tidies the place up)

@ MadPlanet: Never eh? Well, you'll apparently never understand the intricacies of proper handling. You'll never appreciate the love, care and sexual energy that goes in it.

@ Mik: Think the Supergun is indeed a great idea, but I do believe I'll never find the space for a proper setup.

@ JohnH: Never been so impressed with a price before, but to the seller's defense it does come from Japan.

@ Ion Myke: Never be afraid to brag about the 20$ Neo Geo you managed to grab. It will probably never happen again.

  12. Ha! Well phrased Gnome.

Ion Myke, I'll give you $40 right here and now for the Neo. You can double your investment man!

Just please don't put Gnome in charge of the shipping. His zeal for S&H leaves me a bit... cautious. ;)

  13. Oh come on. I'll ship it complete with balloons, candy and hand-written opening instructions. Now, that *is* handling.
