Neo Geo CD

As CD drive prices dropped, and as CDs had always been vastly cheaper than cartridges, SNK attempted to make their Neo Geo powerhouse of a console (and its games) almost affordable, and thus the Neo Geo CD was born. With the exception of the tiresome loading times, it was and still is a great console, sporting some of the most impressive 2D games ever developed.

Handily, you can grab a fully working Japanese version of the machine via this Neo Geo CD eBay auction.  The console comes in its original box with two controllers, manual, and all necessary cables, bits and varied pieces.

Seller ships worldwide.

Also, here's a nice Neo Geo Pocket Color eBay auction for a boxed, working, Blue Edition unit. It comes with a Sonic Pocket Adventure cartridge.

A Neo Geo Pocket Color in a box

It wasn't the most successful handheld ever created in terms of sales, but the Neo Geo Pocket Color by SNK remains a brilliantly designed and elegant console with a relatively small selection of truly fine games. What's more, you can grab one complete in its box and in apparently excellent condition via this Neo Geo Pocket Color eBay auction.

Neo Geo Pocket Color

The truly affordable and mightily portable Neo Geo Pocket Color handheld console was released in 1999 as a successor to the monochrome Neo Geo Pocket of 1998. Both machines were fully compatible with each other, sported some impressive hardware and more than a handful of excellent games.

Speaking of SNK handhelds, you might want to have a look at this Neo Geo Pocket Color eBay auction. The console comes with CardFighter's Clash, Samurai Showdown 2 and King of Fighters R2. Seller ships to most places worldwide.

Neo Geo AES & 4 Games

It's still the most beautiful console ever released, isn't it? Well, hardware design taste aside, the home version of the Neo Geo, its AES variant, was a ridiculously powerful and equally expensive machine, that even today remains a perfect 2D gaming collector's machine. You can bid on this boxed Neo Geo AES and find out why by yourselves. Seller ships worldwide, and the included games are Fatal Fury Special, Samurai Showdown, Samurai Showdown II and Art of Fighting 2.

SNK Neo Geo AES & 3 Games

SNK Neo Geo AESneo-geo gamesThe Neo Geo AES remains the Rolls Royce of gaming and obviously hasn't aged a day since its original release back in 1990 (how time flies, eh?). So, uhm, why not bid on a shiny black SNK Neo Geo with 3 games on eBay? Seller ships worldwide and I'd expect it to sell for more than 300$, 200 pounds or 225 euros. The console comes complete with that amazingly luxuriant controller. As for the games (Magician Lord, Riding Hero, and NAM 1975) they are all boxed and come with manuals.

Neo Geo AES plus goodies

Neo Geo AESSNK's Neo Geo AES is a brilliant beast of a console, that, when originally released, was brave and expensive enough to market itself as an executive toy. It also still happens to be the undisputed king of the 2D beat-'em-up and proper home of all Metal Slug games, and you can even try your luck on a US only boxed Neo Geo & Games & Memory card eBay auction. The included games are none other than Art of Fighting 2 and Fatal Fury Special. The average Neo Geo -without extras- usually sells for around 300$.

SNK Neo-Geo CD with 9 games

SNK Neo Geo CD top loaderThe Neo-Geo was an amazing and amazingly expensive machine and so SNK decided to keep the amazing bit, remove the expensive part and add some pretty annoying loading times by coming up with the Neo-Geo CD. An impressive 2D CD-based powerhouse with a ton of AES/MVS ports that was actually affordable and didn't need them overpriced cartridges. Apparently, it's even more so now. Try this Neo Geo CD & 9 games eBay auction and see what I mean. Seller ships worldwide. Grab this for less than 200$, 150 euros or 115 pounds and consider yourself lucky. Grab it for its current price and throw a party.

Official Sega Dreamcast Arcade Joystick (& 2 Lovely Games!)

Whilst my esteemed colleagues Mr. Gnome and Mr. Elderly trawl the net to find you obscure retro gaming items of interest, I simply continue my own self indulgent wankfest, by simply churning out Saturn and Dreamcast related posts. Ho hum!

Well here's another item I covet, and one of the only Dreamcast peripherals I do not own... (BTW I couldn't post the pics from the ebay auction for some reason, so for illustrative purposes, the arcade joystick thingy is the white box with the green buttons in the picture...)

But wait! Not only can you buy the lovely Joystick thingy but also Japanese imports of Capcom vs. SNK and Powerstone 2. One is a lovely 2D beat 'em up (that's what the Joystick is designed for) and the other is one of the most innovative and frantic 3D weapon based fighters available...

If only I hadn't spent so much money on game related shit, that I'm now in a financial nightmare, I'd definitely buy it!

If you are not currently in crisis talks with your bank manager (like me) why don't you invest in this lovely little package? you can find it here...
