An essentially new Odyssey 2

This properly graded as near mint, essentially new, re-sealed and complete in its box Odyssey 2 console (by Magnavox) that has been put up for auction on eBay is a thing of retro beauty and one of the few consoles to ever ship with a built-in keyboard. What's more, it comes complete with one game cartridge, manual, styrofoam inserts, Odyssey 2 catalogs, leaflets and all the required parts to get things up and running.

Seller ships worldwide.

Magnavox Odyssey 2

I always liked both the way the Maganvox Odyssey 2 looked and how it combined an 8-bit console with a home micro styled keyboard. Also, a lovely, working, boxed Odyssey 2 has been put up for auction and is accompanied by three boxed games. Better grab it, then... Seller ships to more than a few places around the globe.

Ralph Baer signed Magnavox Odyssey

Released back in 1972 the Magnavox Odyssey is, quite obviously, the first video games console ever. Of course this visionary piece of design by Ralph Baer couldn't really do much when it came to games, but remains a pretty impressive and highly collectible piece of technology. And it sports something not wholly dissimilar to modern-day cartridges; and plays the very first Pong-style game ever (yes, before Pong). You can find out more about the Odyssey over at Wikipedia, the Odyssey Museum or Pong Story, but also try the idiosyncratic OdyEmu emulator.

If you are interested in owning a Magnavox Odyssey and are ready to spend quite a bit, I can't help but suggest you have a look at this Ralph Baer signed Odyssey auction. It's a gloriously boxed specimen in great condition, that has been signed by Ralph Bear and comes complete with the tons of bits the original box included (cartridges, cards, tokens, controllers, overlays, the console and more). Seller ships only in the United States.

Magnavox Odyssey 2 & games

The Magnavox Odyssey 2, also known as the Philips Videopac G7000, and a console released back in 1978 is a rather unique and oddly popular beast. You can find out more about it here and here. To emulate it try this link. Better though grab the original machine and experience its odd built-in keyboard and impressively packaged games. It usually isn't that expensive either.

This Magnavox Odyssey 2 auction seems, for example, like a good opportunity. Seller ships worldwide and, besides a fully working console, will be including 2 joysticks, 7 boxed games and all necessary bits and cables that will help you actually play on the thing.

Philips Videopac G7000

Philips Videopac g7000The Videopac G7000 by Philips (a.k.a. Magnavox Odyssey 2) was released back in 1978 and was rather successful in Europe -especially in Holland- and Brazil. Find out more about this lovely 8-bit console over at Old-Computers.com, Wikipedia and this place. Apparently the Odyssey 2 Homepage might be of interest too.

For a chance at such a glorious console, do try this Videopac G7000 eBay auction that comes complete with all the cables, 2 joysticks and a few games. Seller ships worldwide. The Videopac G7000 usually sells for 10£, 19$ or 13 euros.
