The Chaos Engine (Amiga 1200)

Legendary 16-bit coders The Bitmap Brothers released the finest run-and-gun shooter the Amiga had ever seen in 1993. It was none other than the excellent The Chaos Engine, a steampunk shmup set in Victorian times, and involving time travel, quality local co-op, shiny graphics, and near perfect design. It is a true AGA classic, and a game that never aged.

To grab it for your Amiga 1200 you can bid on this The Chaos Engine (Amiga 1200) eBay auction. The game on offer has been tested, and comes in its original box on two 3.5" disks with the manual.

The Playful Boxes of the Amiga 1200

Despite a minor problem in its video output that should be easy to fix and maybe even attributable to the video cable itself, this Amiga 1200 currently up for auction on eBay is a fine opportunity to grab Commodore's excellent 32-bit micro. The computer comes in its Race 'N' Chase box, with all the manuals, a joystick, lots of disks, power supply, cables, and an incredibly handy external disk drive. Oh, yes, and an awesome collection of six boxed games including Syndicate, The Chaos Engine, Simon The Sorcerer and Frontier Elite II.

Sid Meier's Civilization (Amiga 1200)

The turn-based strategy game that started it all, Sid Meier's Civilization by Microprose (Amiga 1200 version), is up for auction in its original box, complete with hefty manual and all four disks. The seller is shipping worldwide, which is apt considering  Civilization is the sim that lets you guide all of humankind to the stars (or, uhm, nuclear annihilation, but let's ignore that).

Amiga 1200: the DD bundle

We are all quite aware of the fact that the Commodore A1200 was a brilliant 32-bit computer that really excelled at both gaming and graphics design. As for the misguided yet tech-savvy souls that have still to experience the thing, well here's a fantastic A1200 auction. The computer comes in its original box, that might come with a broken disk drive, but it also sports two other disk drives for the buyer to install. It also comes with a mouse, two joysticks, all system disks and manuals, power pack, cables and a boxed copy of Deluxe Paint IV. Seller ships worldwide.

What's more the computer is bundled with an excellent selection of 17 boxed games, among which you'll find such Amiga-defining classics as Monkey Island 2, Alien Breed, Speedball 2, Project X, Cannon Fodder 2, Gods and Worms. Oh, and a ton of unboxed software, games and demos is also included.

An Amiga 1200 in Black

If you were thinking about visiting them U.K. islands, I do believe you should really hurry up and make it there before this UK-only auction for a brilliantly modified Amiga 1200 is over. You lucky UK residents can simply bid on the thing instead, for it is indeed a fully upgraded, modified and indeed black-sprayed A1200. The computer comes with a 40GB hard drive, a DVD-R drive, 3 USB ports, a network card, the 68030-based Blizzard 1230 MK3 accelerator board, a CD32 controller, extra power supply, OS3.9 and of course its lovely AGA chip. Oh, and, should you care for one, the seller is apparently willing to throw in a monitor at no extra charge.

Amiga 1200 Desktop Dynamite

The insanely popular Amiga Desktop Dynamite bundle was a beautiful box of 32-bit creative and gaming joy. It was after all filled with a selection of goodies, that included the Amiga 1200 computer, Wordworth 2.0, the AGA version of Deluxe Paint 4, Print Manager, Workbench, manuals, fonts and two games (Oscar, Dennis). As for the A1200 itself, well, it really was a fantastic 32-bit computer that had some amazing games published for it, while retaining its close to 100% compatibility with the Amiga 500.

Happily, you can own said bundle (provided you live in the UK) via this A1200 Desktop Dynamite auction. Besides the retro goodies mentioned above, you'll also be getting three mice, two joysticks, five games in their boxes (including Grand Prix), demo discs, some pirated games and a few spare floppy discs. An excellent chance, really.

Amiga 1200 with hard disk

The ultimate gaming machine has to be an Amiga 1200 with a 2.8GB hard disk, and this is exactly what you can grab via this (UK only) auction. As for me, well, I don't really think I have to elaborate on the matter.

Unleash the Amiga 1200 Power

Commodore A1200 Amiga 1200Truth be said, you could easily grab a cheaper Amiga 1200 than the one pictured above, though you'd still be missing out on quite a bargain. This setup, you see, is almost as powerful as retro machines go, as it includes an extra disk drive, a CD-ROM drive, a fully working hard disk and -impressively- the rare Microbotics M1230XA accelerator with its shiny 68030 processor. What's more, all necessary leads, the PSU, a decent selection of books and manuals, a joystick, a mouse and a ton of software (on CDs, FDDs and the HDD) have been happily thrown in. Grab it via this expanded Amiga 1200 eBay auction. UK only bidders I'm afraid.
