As far as extravagant, supposedly handheld games go, this Tiger version of Sega's Afteburner is easily among the most impressive. You can bid on a working version of the thing via this eBay auction. Seller ships only to Canada and the USA. Oh, and here's a lovely Tiger Electronics Afterburner ad.

WOW, to have this as a kid in the 80's. That be like owning castle greyskull and snake mountain, lol
ReplyDeleteWhile feeling like a pilot I'd add...
ReplyDeleteHey now that's cool! I have never seen that before but that would have been awesome to have as a kid. I dont know why but after not hearing or seeing anything about Afterburner for years I have been bombarded by sightings of it in the last 6 months or so - original arcade versions, ports, this... not sure what that means but there is a sign in there somewhere I'm sure of it! The one for Outrun on the commercial was cool too.
ReplyDeleteIt's the Afterburner assault and its got its retro ads to crush us with. No, seriously, I think I've been spotting quite a few Afterburner references myself lately.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I stopped grabbing Tiger LCD games when I see em. hey don't really sell unless they are in their original packaging, but I would NOT be able to pass up this one! That's amazing.
ReplyDeleteid buy that!
ReplyDeleteAnd wisely so!
ReplyDeleteI had this! I loved it as a kid and played for hours. I miss those days when the simplest toys/games brought hours of enjoyment.
