Most readers of this blog should be aware of the rather disturbing fact that I absolutely love the Atari Lynx (and it doesn't even know I exist). I actually own three of the things and almost 30 games and really feel it still is a great though not particularly portable console. This Atari Lynx II auction seems like a great place to start. The console comes with four games, the multiplayer allowing ComLynx Cable, the External Battery Pack, the official Screen Visor, a car charger, a carrying case and the -essential- power adapter. I remember buying the Battery Pack on ebay, right around when I first started collecting said retro treasures.. It's just so ridiculous. My model II is probably my best performing Lynx, but I know I can't be the only crazy bastard who prefers the model 1. Truly the Cadillac of handhelds.

ReplyDeleteNope, never. Maybe it's just because it's the version I owned as a child, but the thing is awesome. The volume of the speaker alone will blow your mind. I have a few extras, I could probably send one your way.

ReplyDeleteAh, wouldn't be a big deal, I have way too much "extra" stuff lying around. I guess you could give me 10 or 15 bucks for it. Regardless, I recommended grabbing one, it's solid, heavy, and massive. It feels like you are driving a bus.
