Fuji Television Divers 2000 Series CX-1 - an impressive title, and an even more impressive piece of Sega hardware. This very special version of the Dreamcast came with everything a serious user could ever want. A remote (for the tv-function), a controller, keyboard, Vibration Pack, internet and teleconference software, a headset and an instruction video. And even though the built-in screen is fairly small, it is of exceptional quality. The unit is designed to be used every day, and even the antenna doubles as a place to hang the headset when it is not in use. Down the sides are two rows of LEDs, that light up when the unit is in use - a feature that definitely does not make the overall appeal any less.Games are loaded from the top, just like your regular Dreamcast. Unfortunately neither a slot or tray loading drive made it to production, even-though it would have went well with the "Sonic head/iMac" look. The DIVERS 2000 was released in the midst of the short Dreamcast life-span, and is considered as Sega's last contribution to Dreamcast collectors the world over.
I've seen this one before, for a second I hoped for a link to an auction.
ReplyDeletePretty cool to see it again though
Ah, yes, a great post Father! Fantastic and all Dreamcast. Care to share a link though?
ReplyDeleteErm... I would if I could find you one... *FK sneaks off without knowing where to get one...*
ReplyDeleteIs that a necessity of posting Gnome?
Well, not a necessity dear Father, no, but it would definitely be helpful, as this mostly is a blog that hunts down (and shoots) rarities and bargains...
ReplyDeleteI have a recently stuffed and mounted an impressive SMS collection that I have to brag about...
ReplyDeleteAnd I do mean mounted.
Oh yeah.
Now, that we have to see!
ReplyDelete....what a beauty..... (takes aim with shotgun.....lowers shotgun....) no it's not right I can't.... just look at it looking at me....
ReplyDelete... i can't (lowers shotgun....breaks down in tears...)
i can't do it anymore, we shouldn't treat such rarities in this way....
.. it's morally wrong....
(hands shotgun to Gnome...)
here you do it!
Bang!
ReplyDelete(oops, I did it again)
...sniff!...
ReplyDeletedoes this mean we have to leave the segata sanshiro cult?
..crikey!!!! (looks around quickly...) phew! lucky no one was listening.....
ReplyDeletephew...
ReplyDeleteLets see, it's blue, has pointy ears, a quill, & is Sega-related...it's Sonic's head with a monitor for a face.
ReplyDeleteLOL indeed!
