I am fully aware of the fact that you can get a GameBoy for much less, but you simply have to take a look at this lovely Nintendo GameBoy auction dear reader. You know, if only to admire the pictures of a brand new, unused GameBoy in its original, Tetris-including packaging. Seller ships worldwide.

Coming from a long line of Game & Watch-style games, light-bulb football, and those odd little mini-arcade games, the Game Boy, blurry, hard-to-see screen and all, was an incredible piece of hardware in this 6th-grader's grimy little hands.

Heh, similar memories here, though I did use a borrowed GB. The fact that it used cartridges simply blew my mind.
DeleteI remember I was so jealous of my sister's Game Boy. Then somehow I got a Game boy advance. I don't think i left the house for a week. And i barely even left my room xD
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, the joys of true portable gaming can be too many to let us enjoy the portable bit :)
