The Telegames Personal Arcade, the US version of Bit Corporation's DINA 2-in-1, is an obscure and pretty rare machine. To be absolutely frank, I had never heard of the thing till Retro Treasures stalwart Ion Myke let me know of his latest eBay discovery: a boxed Telegames Personal Arcade (seller ships only to US addresses). Oh, and if you're still wondering what the console is all about, well, it can play both ColecoVision and Sega SG-1000 (most of them), was released back in 1986 and looks rather nice too.

Interesting combination - never heard of this system before. Unfortunately, like many obscure systems I've never heard of it is a bit outside my preferred price range. Trivial tidbit I didn't know before Googling = the headquarter city of Telegames is the peculiarly named Gun Barrel City, Texas.
ReplyDeleteGun Barrel City? Sounds like something straight from a spaghetti western. A most excellent name! As for the console, it seems it has been decently price, though admittedly those dark times aren't perfect for overspending. Damn.
ReplyDeleteIt is intriguing, but I'm still busy trying to rationalize my Gamate purchase.
ReplyDeleteI see... :) Well, it's simple. It's such a lovely, obscure little thing that doesn't take up much space.
ReplyDeleteIt's dropped down to $150, if anyone is interested. :)
ReplyDeleteWow indeed!
