When Nintendo and Matsushita decided to work together on the GameCube's unique drive and disks, they also agreed to allow Panasonic (a part of the Matsushita empire) to produce a GameCube, that would also play proper DVDs. Thus the Panasonic Q was born, but only released in Japan. Happily, you can now own one with the help of this Panasonic Q eBay auction. You'll be bidding on a complete, boxed system in great condition and a copy of The Tower of Druaga. Seller ships worldwide.
So shiny!
ReplyDeleteAye. And beautiful too! Happy '12 btw!
ReplyDeleteHappy new year to you too man!
ReplyDeleteThis is what Cube should have been in first place. So sexy and unique.
ReplyDelete@ BRIK: :)
ReplyDelete@ Mik: Absolutely. All the Panasonic Q lacked was an i/r controller.
Surely you could just plug in a Wavebird? I/R controllers for games almost always suck.
ReplyDeleteA, yes, a Wavebird. Of course, of course!
ReplyDeleteI am at MAGFest right now, in the DC area (USA)...

And they have a marketplace room. There's a Q here for $345. :-)
Pretty steep that... Oh, and thank you for being such an inquisitive and fearless retro reporter :)
ReplyDeleteAnd a happy 2012 dear Blake!
I was also at MAGfest. That same guy had an N64DD for $800 or something like that. And a Dr. 64 that I wanted oh so bad, but didn't have the $200 he asked for it.
ReplyDeleteMust have been pretty amazing there DAve, but, well, it seems too far from me. Oh well... eBay shall and certain fora should do for now :)
