Leander has for some unfathomable reason faded into obscurity, despite being the very first game developed by Traveller's Tales and sporting some seriously impressive visuals. It was even published by Psygnosis and was a highly enjoyable fighting platformer, but, well, collective memory seems to work in mysterious ways. Anyway. You can apparently grab a complete, boxed copy of Leander (Amiga) via that auction I just linked to. Seller ships only within the US.
Having the Megadrive version (called Galahad for some reasons), I can assure it's one of the finest action-plaform from the 16 bit era. A good friend of mine also owns the Amiga version in the picture, and it's a beautiful (if not huge) package.
ReplyDeleteGalahad eh? Never knew it existed; then again most Amiga games did eventually make it to the MegaDrive.
DeleteI think that it's due to their similar cpu, or maybe just for easy cash :) BTW, Galahad is almost the same game, but the samurai was changed into a knight (the sprite remains the same, though). There are some other minor differences, but for the most part is the same, beautiful game :)
ReplyDeleteJust googled a few piccies. Yes, it's quite lovely. Thanks for the info dear Mik!
