There is one version of Robotron: 2084 for the Atari 8-bit micros that impressively comes with a dual joystick holder and apparently eBay seller myatari has three of them waiting to be purchased at what can only be described as a decent price. You can grab them right here and play this historic arena shooter the way it was meant to. Seller ships worldwide and you'll be getting a complete, unopened box of the game.
Quite a nifty idea, using the box as a holder for the two joysticks, but wouldn't hitting the fire buttons be a bit awkward? More importantly, could some clever homebrew developer use this method, and the various switches on the VCS to de-make Steel Battalion for the Atari 2600?
ReplyDeleteYes! A Steel Battalion demake for the 2600 would be a surrealist gamer's dream come true!
ReplyDeleteAs for the Atari 8-bit version of the thing I don't believe one would have to actually use the fire buttons.
