Chu Chu Rocket is a brilliant game and the Sega Dreamcast is a brilliant console, but I'm sure you were aware of such trivialities. So, uhm, may I interest you in a pretty fantastic special edition of Chu Chu Rocket then? It comes boxed (in a most colourful box indeed) with a lovely collectible controller and, though a Japanese NTSC release, I'm pretty sure you can get it running on any Dreamcast. Grab it over at Play Asia.
What a crazy game. Its fast pace and continuous rule changes makes it perfect for a night with friends (and beer too :))
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely riotous!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! What a lovely looking controller. I bet it's not any more durable than a normal DC controller though :(
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid you have a point there dear Simon.
ReplyDeleteA truly awesome title. One of the best on Dreamcast. Just goes to show, you can have as much fancy (at the time) hardware as you want, but good old fashioned simple gameplay will always shine through.
ReplyDeleteDidn't this get remade recently for handhelds or something? If if not, why not? Dammit, Sega. Stop with the endless crap Sonic games and give us Ch Ch Rocket on iPhones, DSiware, PSN and Xbox Live. It must be done!
Actually, I do believe there's an iOS version of Chu Chu Rocket, though it definitely doesn't make up for the series of atrocious Sonic offerings...
ReplyDeleteAlso, game design always beats fancy graphics, as we retro lovers know best. :)
agreed agreed and agreed. Nifty unique little game for a wonderful console!
ReplyDeleteHooray! We all agree!
ReplyDeleteOne of the best games on the Dreamcast with an addictive puzzle mode and frantically fun battle mode. The only problem is the lack of multiplayer.
