A starting bid of 2,500$ is rather steep but the jaw dropping Infocom Collection that has appeared on eBay might just be worth it. It is after all huge, sports over a dozen rare games, 50 or so Infocom titles in a variety of version, a copy of Starship Titanic, the relatively recent Zork games by Activision, a selection of Invisiclues, 10 sealed copies of the C64 version of Zork I, more games, more rarities and those hard to find choose-your-own-adventure books Infocom published. Oh, and the auction page is filled with beautiful photos of everything on offer. Seller ships worldwide.
What? Where am I? I must have passed out for a moment. That is one helluva collection! But also a whole lot of Zorkmids on that asking price - ouch. Any chance we could round up 250 people to pony up $10 each and take turns?
ReplyDeleteBased on the price and scope of his collection I'm surprised he doesn't have the Suspended with the 3D plastic face insert or the Starcross packaged in the actual starship.
I can't afford to live in this guy's neighborhood, but definitely an enjoyable auction viewing. Thanks for the link Gnome.
Glad you appreciated it MadPlanet, though truth be said I knew you'd love what's on offer. Now, here are my 10$ -nay 15$!- and I'm off rounding up people to help us bid.
ReplyDeleteDidn't play much Infocom games - but hey, the auction is extraordinarily accurate, and really enjoyable to scroll down. Nice one, Gnome!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mik. And I strongly suggest you try an Infocom game. Say... A Mind Forever Voyaging.
ReplyDeleteMmmh... *checks external hard drive*
ReplyDeleteWha... it's not in the c64 romset, nor in the amiga one, and is missing even in the dos collection... should I worry?
Yes, yes, worry. Worry deeply. And search around.
ReplyDeleteDON'T PANIC! But yes, do worry. And get it. :)
