Originally designed as a way to entertain airplane passengers, then slightly modified for Japanese consumers only to evolve into the infamous
Sega Nomad and rumored to have been the subject of some good old-fashioned piracy, the
Sega Mega Jet MD variant of the
MegaDrive/Genesis console is a collector's item. It also happens to be a portable version of Sega's classic 16-bit console without a screen. You can find out more about it
here and then try grabbing one via this
Sega Mega Jet eBay auction. Seller ships worldwide.
Another rarity I never know existed! Who would've thought that they made a portable MD to play on a plane?
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure Sega would :p
ReplyDeleteWow - didn't even know this site existed! It's awesome! Some of these finds bring back font memories of carboot sales of yore! Also - Racketboy, yes your interview was featured in that Dreamcast edition of Retro Gamer Magazine.
