Published by Infocom, designed by the late and great Douglas Adams himself, sporting some of the funniest prose on the planet and featuring the still unsurpassed ultra-complicated Babel Fish puzzle, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is both a text-adventure classic and one of the best games ever. What's more, being all (sophisticated) text THGTTG has aged remarkably well too.To play a freeware illustrated version of the game simply follow this link to the BBC (more Douglas Adams links/games here), but to fully and truly enjoy THGTTG the way it was meant to, I'm afraid you'll have to grab the complete and pretty rare original Infocom box.
