The complete Sinclair ZX81

Sinclair's tiny, sleek, and very successful 8-bit micro, the lovely 8-bit Sinclair ZX81, is a brilliant machine to collect for, has had some excellent games written for it, still enjoys a vibrant homebrew scene, and -handily- is tiny enough to find its place on any desk. Amiga A570 CD Drive

Released by Commodore in 1992 for the Amiga 500, the incredibly easy to install A570 provided the computer both with a standard single-speed CD-ROM drive, and with full CDTV compatibility. Ultima V: Warriors of Destiny (Apple II)

Ultima V was the first Ultima RPG I ever played and, to this day, remains one of my all time favourite games regardless of genre and/or platform. It also featured some absolutely stunning box art, came packaged with an amazing assortment of goodies, and was an absolutely engrossing RPG.

ColecoVision, Coleco's powerful rival to the Atari 2600 and a successful 8-bit console on its own right that was essentially killed only during the videogame crash, is home to some excellent, classic games, and also a highly intriguing gaming machine. Loom by Brian Moriarty and his brilliant Lucasfilm team is one of the greatest, most beautiful, and utterly unique adventures of all time. A Vectrex to get you started

Sometimes, it is indeed better to start with the bare basics, avoid spending everything on a single purchase, and slowly working ones way to either an impressive collection or a fine gaming setup. Space Quest III (MS-DOS)

I love Space Quest III: The Pirates of Pestulon. I just do. I love its many mad deaths, the silly Sierra meta-jokes, the excellent EGA graphics, the playful parser, the clever writing, the sci-fi setting, even many of the puzzles. Commodore 64 Night Moves & loads of games

Another one of those ultra-popular, and thoroughly brilliant Commodore 64 8-bit micros has gone up for auction on eBay, and you should probably care. Why? Because this particular computer comes in its iconic Night Moves bundle box, a lot of extras, a nice thingy that lets you load up games via mp3 player, a more traditional Datassette, and a ton of games. Among the games you'll also find Robocop, Sherlock, Football Manager, Fist II, and Rockstar Ate My Hamster.

Fresh Homebrew: Moonspire (Commodore 64)

Exploration heavy shooters aren't very common on the Commodore 64 these days, and the freshly released and even more freshly boxed Moonspire is here to fix this horrible problem. It's a pretty huge game sporting 264 screens of clever action and atmospheric graphics spread over six levels, a lovely soundtrack, three weapons, a ton of options, and a very intriguing premise. The game was developed by Dušan Milivojević and Ari "agemixer" Yliaho, and published by RGCD.

You can buy a complete boxed and very impressive copy of Moonspire here, and have the game on a cartridge with manual and everything. A cheaper, downloadable version is available on itch.io.

A new and sealed Adventure for the Atari 2600

A valiant attempt at evoking the text-based Adventure's spirit on the limited Atari 2600, a pioneering arcade-adventure, the home of the first Easter egg, and a truly classic and definitive game, Atari's Adventure is something every 2600 collector should own. More dedicated collectors on the other hand would probably prefer this essentially new, factory sealed copy of Adventure (Atari 2600) currently being auctioned on eBay.

Intelligent Systems' Enterprise

I love discovering obscure micros on eBay, and, well, the Enterprise 128 is definitely one of my absolute favourite forgotten 8-bits. The playful colors, the built-in joystick, the 128k of RAM, and the impressive audiovisual capabilities made this a very exciting computer, though not as exciting as the Atari STs and Amigas of the time and it sadly flopped. Not being cheaper than the ZX Spectrum didn't help much either...

Anyway. The Enterprise 128 on offer comes in its box with a Hungarian manual, the original power supply, all required cables, one game tape, the Basic cartridge, and the system bus cover. The micro seems to be in good working order.
