A short break and a bit of Infocom
Hello dearest Retro Treasurers!
I'm just letting you know that this blog will go on a two weeks vacation and hence not do much to support your collecting hobby for that period. Also, let me wish you all a brilliant summer! It's something I really need too as, well, exhaustion does have to be combated :)

The sleek SNK Neo Geo AES, the consolized version of the MVS arcade system, has always been an expensive and utterly impressive console; it still is and so are its games, but chances are you could save some money by bidding on this Neo Geo auction. The console comes complete with two controllers, the manual, the power supply, its video cable and eight (!) boxed games including Fatal Fury, Ninja Commando and Magician Lord.

The Great Giana Sisters, the excellent platformer that had to face Nintendo's wrath and be pulled from stores, is nowadays sort of a collector's holy grail -- also, you can happily bid on The Great Giana Sisters over at eBay. The Dig by Lucasarts (MS-DOS)
Though it's not as fondly remembered as most of the classic Lucasarts/Lucasfilm adventures, The Dig is a personal favourite. Its amazing alien world, the brilliant sci-fi plot, the involved and excellently designed puzzles, the oppressive atmosphere, the stunning pixel art and that impressive soundtrack make it an absolute must-play. Hence, grabbing The Dig (DOS) via eBay might be a pretty great idea if you love your retro pointing-and-clicking.
Mind you, it's the boxed MS-DOS version of the game you'll be bidding on and it comes complete with CD, jewel case, manual and reference guide. Seller ships to most places worldwide.
Sinclair Professional Series PC200
The rare and good looking Sinclair PC200 from Amstrad's short-lived Professional Series was a standard, reasonably priced and a bit behind the times IBM PC-compatible computer released in 1988. It tried to compete with the Amiga and ST and thus came in an all-in-one case with 512k of RAM, a pretty fast 8086 CPU, a 3.5" disk drive and, sadly, CGA/MDA graphics. Not surprisingly it flopped and is nowadays highly sought after.
Interestingly, you can grab a Sinclair PC200 off of eBay. It seems to be in good condition but is untested. Seller ships worldwide.

Nintendo's Zelda Game & Watch
I vividly remember being amazed when I first tried the Game & Watch version of Zelda; it really felt like playing something that should be running on a computer and not on a tiny handheld; it was simply wonderful. Actually, it still is. And highly collectible too and that's why people should care for this Zelda Game & Watch auction.
It's for the complete, boxed version of the handheld with instructions, battery cover and everything and seems to be in great shape. Seller ships worldwide.
Commodore Amiga 500
The Amiga 500 was Commodore's most iconic 16-bit machine and a wonderful micro that was both sensibly priced and, well, groundbreaking. You can own one via this Amiga 500 auction, that will be getting you a finely preserved and fully working computer, a power supply and 2 disks with Workbench 1.3, Amiga Basic 1.2 and them Amiga Extras. Seller ships worldwide.
