Never was to be it would seem, with indecisive design and straddling two 'generations' of hardware being its failure. Can be compared to the Saturn in that regard I guess- although I hold the Saturn in higher regards!Sir Gaulianhttp://amostagreeablepastime.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5881574431924666276.post-23311910806522729072012-01-27T12:07:32.620+00:002012-01-27T12:07:32.620+00:00You are indeed right. Mind you, as it had a head-start, if the hardware wasn't that buggy, it could have done much better.gnomehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03497613771780431048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5881574431924666276.post-76399958392414844772012-01-27T11:37:22.754+00:002012-01-27T11:37:22.754+00:00A really lovely example of the venerable Jaguar. It wasn't a bad machine, it's more that it was destined to go up against some very stiff competition in the form of the Sony Playstation, The Sega Saturn and the N64. I think it was quite hard to program too. That said, it could produce some excellent results in the right hands. The Jag version of Doom is a great port with silky smooth gameplay, and the classic Alien versus Predator was dripping in atmosphere. Shame Atari saddled it with carts and a horrible joypad.Bobnoreply@blogger.com
